CGFNS® Test Format The CGFNS® is a 4-hour examination that tests nursing proficiency. The test consists of 250 multiple choice questions divided into two test booklets. The content of the exam is based on the nursing process and patient or client needs.

In Part 1, you will have 2 hours and 30 minutes to answer 150 questions. In Part 2, you will have 1 hour and 40 minutes to answer 100 questions.

These questions are designed to test your knowledge and understanding of the following concepts:

Safe, effective care environment

Physiological integrity

Psychosocial integrity

Health promotion and maintenance
Your Results
Your answer sheet will be scored by a machine. Your grade will be either "PASS" or "FAIL." You will be notified of your numerical score and the score required to pass the exam. Test results are usually available in six to eight weeks.
