
Our tests are high-quality evaluation tools that are reviewed
and revised every 12 to 18 months as needed. The tests are
nationally normed and the questions are carefully researched to
evaluate relevant content areas.
Preadmission:
A 71-question multiple-choice test that evaluates the basic
reading, math, and writing skills of high school graduates. The
Reading section tests the students' ability to identify the idea
and/or purpose of the passage, identify details, and to use
inference and logic. The Math section tests fundamental math,
algebra, geometry, and problem solving. The Writing section
offers the students an opportunity to identify correct and
incorrect sentence mechanics, paragraph logic, and passage
development.
Fundamentals of
Nursing: A 75-question test that evaluates the
understanding of nursing procedures and the basic skills needed
to care for clients in a variety of situations.
Critical
Thinking: A 75-question test that measures critical
thinking at the conclusion of a Fundamentals of Nursing course.
The test measures the steps of critical thinking vital to the
successful practice of nursing.
Wellness/Physical
Assessment: A 75-question test that evaluates the
understanding of techniques of physical assessment and the
behaviors required to prevent illness and maintain health
throughout the life span.
Pharmacology/Parenteral Therapy: A 75-question
test that evaluates the understanding of the administration of
medication as well as the nursing implications. Questions about
parenteral therapies are also included.
Pediatrics: A
75-question test that evaluates the understanding of obstetrical
nursing, gynecological nursing, and issues related to growth and
development throughout the life span.
Medical/Surgical Part
I: A 75-qustion test that evaluates the understanding of
the musculoskeletal, endocrine, immune, integumentary, GI, and GU
systems.
Medical-Surgical Part
II: A 75-question test that evaluates the understanding of
the neurological, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems and
cancer.
Medical-Surgical
Comprehensive: A 75-question test that evaluates the
understanding of the concepts of medical/surgical nursing
throughout the life span.
Psychosocial:
A 75-question test that evaluates the understanding of
psychiatric nursing and the psychosocial issues involved in
caring for clients in the world today.
Management/Professional Issues: A 75-question
test that evaluates the understanding of the scope and role of
the registered professional nurse in today's healthcare
environment.
Nursing Assessment
Test: A 180-question test that evaluates the students'
mastery of the content areas taught in a basic nursing
curriculum.
